Shyam Sundar Paliwal
Shyam Sunder Paliwal is a renowned social activist and former village head (sarpanch) of Piplantri,
located in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district. Widely known as the "Father of Eco-Feminism",
he pioneered a unique movement that links environmental conservation with women’s empowerment.
In memory of his late daughter, he launched the inspiring initiative of planting 111 trees for every girl child born in the village.
For his outstanding social work, he was honored with the Padma Shri award in 2021.
